Clarissa Dillon, Ph.D. intends this website to promote the study and understanding of the 18th century domestic sphere in Southeastern Pennsylvania. An historian, professional teacher and researcher, Clarissa brings her unique insights to life in her presentations, and deep research and practical experience into her publications pertaining to cooking, medicine, daily life, economics, culture, morals, gardening and the women of the 18th century. On April 5, 2006, we added a list of books and papers currently available for purchase from the author. Subjects cover gardens, food and cooking, women, children, medicine and cultural discussions. Clarissa's unique style and deep research make these publications a pivotal part of any 18th century afficionado's library. To see another of Clarissa's endeavors, visit the website of Past Masters in Early American Domestic Arts, an organization dedicated to bringing the public to a better understanding of the century, and of which Clarissa is a founding member. |
